The Dance and the Story

The Dance and the Story was a collaborative project with A' the Airts children's summer holiday course and the adult community in Sanquhar, Scotland. The videos show part of the performances in the Sanquhar Town Hall in August 2022.

The children’s project featured Historical Wedding Dances focusing on the marriage of two Scottish princesses in France in 15th and 16th century.

The adult community were part of the performance “Robert Burns learns to Dance” alongside the Nonsuch International Summer Course (August 2022). Historical dances were taught, studied and performed from all historical periods from medieval times to the 19th century.
