In Schools

What we offer your school

NONSUCH provides a unique presentation and workshop experience for your pupils, immersing them in the Tudor world through theatrical performance, dance, and practical exercises.

Four professional actors and actresses, attired in period costume, will begin the workshop with a theatrical performance. This leads into an exercise in Tudor dance that actively involves the children. Our experienced team will provide instruction in the dress, manners, and culture of this historical period. We culminate with a presentation giving your pupils an opportunity to demonstrate what they’ve learned.

In addition to the day-long workshop described above, we can also tailor-make a programme for your school incorporating the historical period that you are studying.

Our repertoire includes the dances of the Medieval, Stuart, and Victorian periods. We are experienced in working with a range of age groups, and are pleased to arrange shorter sessions, or a longer residency. Our previous work includes: a celebration of the 400th anniversary of Chipping Norton’s 1607 Charter, a “Living as a Tudor Week” for a Year 9 group in Doncaster, and projects connected to the National Curriculum.

The cost to your school

Please contact us to discuss your requirements. As a guide, we charge £500.00 for a full-day workshop within greater London or the Home Counties. We’d be happy to discuss rates outside this area, as well as prices for residencies and tailor-made workshops of any length.

We’ve found that schools can reduce costs by partnering with other schools to host workshops, and many schools have secured special funding through programmes such as Creative Partnerships to fund our work.
